Under Secretary Brian Nelson delivers announcement.
Last week, the Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) imposed tariffs on two major drug traffickers known to be highly involved in Mexican cocaine cartels. OFAC partnered with the Drug Control Administration to impose these tariffs and did so in pursuit of the full implementation of President Biden’s Executive Order against drug trafficking, enacted on December 15, 2021.
“Drug trafficking is a grave threat to Americans, international security, and the U.S. financial system,” said Under Secretary of the Treasury for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence Brian Nelson. “Treasury is designating these two individuals for their support to one of Mexico’s most dangerous criminal organizations and for the delivery of cocaine to U.S. markets. ”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Treasury Department officials as they implement sanctions on drug traffickers.
- For Under Secretary Nelson as he works to thwart terrorism.
- For the president and his administration to seek God’s direction in dealing with international criminal organizations.
